This is a one-hour presentation that explores the famous 8-House designed by Bjarke Ingels, founding partner of Bjarke Ingels Group. A local resident living in the 8House will show you the 8House

The 8-House is a large complex built in the shape of the figure 8 in the most southern part of Ørestad overlooking Nature Park Amager. The bow-shaped building consists of 61,000 m² of three different types of residential housing and 10,000 m² of retail premises and offices.

We elaborate on how this building is part of a new experience design that has to meet a lot of new needs and purposes. What did the residents expect when buying an apartment in the 8-House and were their expectations met?

You will hear the story about how Bjarke Ingels Group wanted to build an entire village in one building resembling an Italian mountain village. How do you create a village on a bare field that is so large, that it actually balances between urban planning and housing?
